Lakes Region Mental Health Center is a private, non-profit organization designated by the State of New Hampshire as the community mental health center serving Belknap and southern Grafton Counties. Founded in 1966, LRMHC provides comprehensive, integrated mental health treatment for people living with – and recovering from – mental illness and/or emotional distress.
Lakes Region Mental Health Center (LRMHC) provides 24/7 Emergency Services to the three hospitals in our catchment area and assists with any patient that comes to the ER with a psychotic emergency.
Emergency Services are available to all residents in the 24 towns we serve:
- Regardless of ability to pay
- Individual, group and family therapy
- Crisis teams in the event a tragic event occurs that impacts a community at large, psychiatry
- Nursing and primary health care services
- Community support programs for people with severe and persistent mental illness
- Care management
- Community-based supports
- Supportive housing for homeless adults with a diagnosed mental illness
- Supported employment
- Substance use disorder treatment for adults with co-occurring mental illness
- Specialty services and evidence-based practices for children and their families, including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, child/parent psychotherapy, art therapy and play therapy.
- Child Impact seminars are offered at both campuses in Laconia and Plymouth for divorcing families.
