The Family Connections Center provides family support for parents incarcerated in the NH state prison system. The Family Connections Center provides parenting education and support for those incarcerated while creating and providing opportunities for incarcerated parents and their children to interact in a positive manner, while linking families on the outside to community resources.
The Family Connections Center provides parenting education classes, parenting support groups, Healthy Relationships classes, weekly parenting support groups, bi-weekly tele-visits between incarcerated parents and their children, a summer camp program for these children and parents, the ability to record books on a cd, a literacy program and book giveaway, various life skills seminars facilitated by community agencies and family counseling via tele-health.
The three programs at the three prisons generally run 4 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hours and days change depending upon the needs of the facility and the families and staffing levels.
