Easterseals NH Child Development Center supports high-quality, affordable early childhood programs for low-income children ages 6 weeks to age 5 in the Greater Manchester area. In addition, Family Support Services provide access to supports that improve school readiness and reduce the incidence of child abuse and neglect. These services are provided free-of-charge and include family support, parent education programs, Parent Leadership, donation distribution, nutritious meals, dental care, diapers, wipes, formula, infant food, and other items to meet the basic needs of low to moderate-income families.
Easterseals’ primary and on-going goal is to provide affordable, high-quality childcare to low-income children and families. They strive to increase the number of children entering public school ready to learn, and with improved literacy and math competency, and basic needs being met, so they may continue to develop necessary skills and thrive alongside their peers.
Easterseals’ second goal is to prevent and change dysfunctional parent/child interaction patterns, promote positive self-concepts, and build healthy relationships to prevent child abuse and neglect through family support, family preservation, and individual parent support. A child’s first community is the family or household into which the child is born. Families are unique, with their own composition, culture, language, strengths, interests, needs, and concerns. They work with families and also support parents in their role as an important member of their child’s educational team.
