A resource for families with newborns experiencing a period of increased crying, the Period of PURPLE Crying® educational program has a three-dose strategy to reach parents and the community. We’re leading the charge in New Hampshire to promote a cultural change in how we understand infant crying, ways to cope with frustrating, inconsolable crying, and the dangers of reacting to this frustration by shaking or hurting an infant. We do this by:
- Providing technical assistance to hospitals who implement the program
- Supporting community-based providers who reinforce the program’s message
- Spreading public awareness through education, media, and advertising campaigns
